BeatHeathen BeatHeathen started playing in 2001 and just kept moving from strength to strength His music is progressive in structure and ranges from Progressive trance, tribal and house to a more chunkier electro sound. BeatHeathen has played alongside some of Johannesburgs top DJ's such as Brian Banshee, Jevon, Stuart Hillary, Nelson (Afroboogie) and Anton Nathrass. Clubs and events include Club Drinks, where he held a residency for a year. 164 Kathrine, where he played at exclusive underground parties. 117, Being one of the club owners favourite DJ's he managed to play at all the big events and private parties in this phenomenal underground club until it's closure in 2004. On top of all the club residencies he's also managed to play at most of Johannesburgs underground events such as Haus Party I, II and III. Silent Productions' Liquid Sunshine Parties, Redeye productions' Wonderground parties, Techno Tannies' range of underground events as well as the Revel Inn festivals in Rustenburg. BeatHeathen is now co-owner of the DJ Lounge, a record store and Lounge in Johannesburg which features top underground artists and DJ's on a regular basis. Through the DJ Lounge he managed to get his own dancefloor at ESP Nightclub, one of Johannesburg oldest and longest running superclubs. He is solely in charge of the music policy and DJ's and has full control of all aspects of the floor. In a recent interview on Beatroot (channel Go DSTV) BeatHeathen was hailed as one of the pioneers in the Johannesburg's Underground Progressive scene. |
